The story so far.

I formed Unforgiven in September 1993 as a musical project for a load of songs that I had written between early 1992 - 1993.  I didn't know how people would react as apart from just a few other bands, most just played covers. We made our debut on a Sunday 24th November at The Quicksilver Mail in Yeovil supporting Zarcoma (now Fourway Kill). It was a fair gig and we did ok. We played again on December 27th at The Alexandra in Yeovil and got pissed!.

1994 was highlighted by the release of the bands first album "The Becoming of Evil" in May which we sold out quickly. We played a little further afield and started picking up a few fans on our travels.

1995 saw us travel all over England and meet a lot of great people. We released "Stainless Assassin" in November '95 which, again sold well. We supported The Selecter in '95 and got on really well with Pauline Black and the other guys.

1996 brought our biggest selling album "Environment" which was released on December 23rd in Yeovil. We played a shit load of shows in '96 and drank quite a bit too!. Went to Bruce Dickinson's birthday bash in London and talked about loads. I asked Bruce what his favorite Iron Maiden tracks were. Run To The Hills and Tailgunner was his reply.

1997 was a non album year although we did record fourteen tracks at Small World in Yeovil. The band was playing really well and we had no problem getting bookings.  We played everywhere and anywhere sometimes wondering why we did. But hell, we still managed to get pissed on a pretty regular basis.

1998 has to be said, was a very pivotal year for the now renammed UNFORGIVEN KINGDOM.  We had (not for the first time) line up changes and now I felt, the band had reached another level. We released Worn in October '98 and it became the bands fastest selling album. Still no respite in the shows or the drinking. We still travelled everywhere and didn't really care where we got pissed. We all had a ball!.

1999 came in with a bang and we didn't stop. We released "Five Go Mad In Portsmouth" a raunchy live album recorded in Portsmouth. We followed this with a live acoustic album "Acoustic Assassination" and released our fifth studio album "Millennium Deception" in November that year. To add to this, we released the "Archive" series which comprised of four albums of demos , unreleased tracks and live redcordings!. Among the many gigs we played, we supported The Hamsters at The Wedgewood Rooms in November. A busy year was 1999!.

2000 was almost the end of Unforgiven Kingdom. Personal difficulties made it virtually impossible to continue.  But the band re-emerged for a single gig in July at Mr Smiths in Bournemouth and by September we were off again!. Come December and some more "restructuring" we were out as a three piece. Hell hath no fury like a Dillon scorned!.

2001 started out well enough and I was getting used to playing bass. We kept on playing and wrote enough material for another album in the April of that year. That material still has not been released. We finished the year off with two nights in Portsmouth and tons of beer!. We released "Dead or Alive With Beer" in February, a live recording made at The Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth in 1999. We also played The Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth on Sunday 19th August. It was assumed that this was the bands farewell gig..

2002 saw what everyone thought (except me!) was the farewell gig for us. We played a sell out show at Talking Heads in Southampton on 29th November. I guess that I never really made any real statement about the future of the band and people took it for granted that this was the end. It's true, I had so much else going on that I really did need a break but, I never had any plans to not take UNFORGIVEN KINGDOM out on the road again.

2003 a dark dismal January and me shut away writing what was to be a seperate project. I had had little contact with the rest of the band (they were busy doing their own things) and I was in writing mode. I got to about song number sixteen before it clicked that I could put a new UNFORGIVEN KINGDOM on the road. We played our first gig with the new line up in October 2003. We released "Ten Years In Hell" a compilation album of the past ten years in October. The year finished with a few gigs and a few pints!. Nice.

2004 saw the release of "Awaken" the bands sixth studio album. Lots of gigs and a very turbulent line up that seemed to change by the week!. Still, we battled on and managed to play a shit load of dates (just like the old days!).

2005...ah!, almost up to date but the story doesn't end here. Still in the grip of line up problems, the band continued with almost all of the dates we had booked for the year. I have a couple of stand in drummers (to whom, I am extremley grateful) who helped out when they could. It just helped to keep the band on the road when all looked lost. We released an album of outakes and unreleased tracks "Rarities From The Awaken Vault" in February andto date, that's it. We have played with more bands this year than in the entire history of the band. To them I would like to say "Thank You All" as they have all been great along the way.

2006. A new line up change for this year and it's only bloody January!!!. In December 2005 we recruited a new lead guitarist in Philip Smith. January saw our new drummer Nick Perry join. After a barren January where for the first time, we didn't play a single show, UK took to the road in February. To date we are enjoying some great gigs and meeting friends (new and old) every week. For the first time in some years, Unforgiven Kingdom is a band with a purpose. Long may it continue. In July Dillon releases his first solo album NOTHING IN THE UNIVERSE.

2007. Going to be a quiet year for Unforgiven Kingdom but a busy one for Planned Accidents. There will be on average two shows a month for UK. Obviously, the album "Waking The Wolf" will be shelved. Anyone wanting to hear what would have been the seventh UK studio album can get a copy of the demo's as I will release them during the next couple of months. There will be a new Planned Accidents album in 2007. We have recorded two new songs for this album already and are excited at the response that we have had.

In the attempt to keep a band such as this alive it has to be said that it has been a bloody nightmare. However, saying all that, it has been also great fun and very rewarding. I doubt if the band had been anything other than original, would it have survived. After all, what is the point of playing someone else's material in small circles. None whatsoever!.
