Studio memories
 
The first session for The Becoming of Evil was a weekend marathon. Back in those days we would book a studio, and stay until everything was finished. On the Saturday we worked for 18 hours and 21 hours on the Sunday. I can remeber looking at Darren and thinking "my God, you look like shit". I can only imagine that he probably thought the same about me!.
 
We took many sessions to make Environment. In total we recorded 68 songs!. Some of these (of course) will never be released. The band line up changed three times before we finally got the finished album. Some of the final tracks on the album exist in three different versions.
 
My Jack Russel terrier Plog used to come to the studio with us. He was banned after shitting in the hallway of the studio and stealing the sound engineers stash of blow!.
 
I will never know how I mannaged to sing the vocals on the Worn album. The night before (we were staying with Gerry and Sharon) we had a bit of a session which involved 3 litres of wine and about three pints of vodka!. After play fighting with Gerry (customary Melvyn  - of course!) I passed out. We were due in the studio at 10am but got there shortly after midday. I was still completley pissed. I had to hang onto the walls to stand up!.
 
During the recording of Millennium Deception, we got through 240 tea bags and 6lb of liver saussage, 5lb of ham and god knows how many fags!.
 
The song "Ghosts" was only written two days before we went in to record. It was virtually rehearsed live in the studio.
 
Three songs have been recorded twice over the years and included on albums. "Unforgiven" on The Becoming of Evil & Environment. "Highland Spirit" on The Becoming of Evil & Worn and "Anglo Invasion" on Stainless Assassin & Millennium Deception.
 
The hidden track "Cow Dung" on Worn was originally written by Dillon in 1979. Sounds like he should have given up back then!.
 
Kenny Spalding always  used a pair of pink underpants to clean his guitars during the Environment sessions. It was rumored that they were actually his!.
 
During the making of Nothing In The Universe, Dillon re-wrote the lyrics to Wonderful four times. This is a record as Dillon never re- writes lyrics.
